I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend from D.C. We have visited this restaurant twice in the last few months and it does not stop impressing me. I'm in love! The location is great, the ambiance is excellent, and the service, as would be expected, is top notch! There are two restaurants: Causa and Amazonia. The latter is not easy to visit because it requires reservations at least one month (preferably more, if possible) in advance. Amazonia is more possible, but advance reservations are recommended as well, especially on weekends.

Causa is an eating experience--in fact, they call the meal an "experience." Chef Carlos Delgado's courses take his guests on a culinary exploration of Peru's vast coastline and the wonders of the Andes mountains. He presents culinary creations that I have yet to taste, but if Amazonia is any indicator, I am sure that Causa is top-of-the-line! His concept is similar to that of Virgilio Martínez's Central, in Lima, Perú, another place that I must visit on my return to that city. On my last trip, I was unable to obtain a reservation even though I attempted to do so for around 2 month! I am dying to eat at Causa, and I will, soon! When I do, I will post my impression, which I have no doubt will be amazing!

Amazonia is a bar and rooftop restaurant, with a more traditional sit-down menu, I have savored several of their plates and have been impressed with every single one! The combination of flavors and the spectacular presentations of food as art appeal to the senses in ways that not many restaurants can.

For starters, other than wine, I recommend the Amazonia punch and, of course, the pisco sour. Then, on to the food extravaganza! I have savored the lagarto (alligator), loved the inguiri nigiri, been mesmerized by the ceviche and captivated by the scallops, and as if those weren't enough, did the anticuchos ever make my heart beat, pardon the pun! They were the best I have ever eaten!!! And the chaufa putumayo!!! Wow! I must admit that I was skeptical at first because, living in South Florida, where Peruvian restaurants are very common, my experience with chaufa has not been the greatest! Trust me when I say that this was no run-of-the-mill fried rice! Oh and that all-too-common plate, the Lomo Saltado, which is also a dime-a-dozen in South Florida, cannot even closely begin to approximate the culinary exquisiteness of Amazonia's version.

by far, this is one of the best culinary experiences I have had in quite some time. The prices are very reasonable considering the service and the quality and flavor of the food. You have to go there! If you do go, let us know your opinion.

I share pictures of some of the delights I have savored here. Enjoy!
